TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a MINING ENGINEER for a Calgary based opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on heavy industrial Engineering projects.
Job Description:
- Reporting to the Mining Manager and working alongside other team members
- Providing support for a wide variety of project and site functions
- Providing mine design for open pit mining projects
- Liaising with other technical specialists including geotechnical, infrastructure, hydrogeology personnel, etc.
- Working at scoping to feasibility study levels or providing services to operating mines
- Working as an integral team member of a multi-discipline project team
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering
- 5+ years of open pit mining experience obtained largely from working at mine operations
- Proven technical skills in various aspects of mine design
- Experience with mine design software such as Whittle, Minesite, etc.
- Knowledge of mine scheduling software such as Xpac and Mine Sched would be an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and task management skills
- Ability to multi-task between various projects and tasks
