TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for PROJECT MANAGERS for a Calgary based opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on industrial Engineering projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Client Project Team.
- Providing project input, ownership and presentation of monthly stewardship reports.
- Ensuring production of the project deliverables in accordance with the approved baseline.
- Setting up agenda, lead, record and follow-up for the project’s weekly team meetings.
- Reviewing and approving invoicing of all major subcontracts.
- Managing Technical/Engineering Scope of Work with regard to accountability, schedule, performance and practicality.
- Maintaining alignment and focus on priorities with team members.
- Establishing project baseline deliverables, workforce budget/resources, schedule, cost of services.
- Updating budgets and revising allocations as approvals are received.
- Recording and maintaining project decisions.
- Providing direction to discipline leads regarding what is to be performed and when.
- Providing support to the client for client-led activities and stage deliverables.
- Ensuring application of Management of Change procedure.
- Scheduling and monitoring progress of all work.
- Revising the schedule as required by client changes.
- Maintaining contact with client on all contractual, financial, schedule and operations issues.
- Liaising with subcontractors to ensure schedule obligations are met.
- Preparing monthly progress billings.
- Ensuring all submittal obligations are met.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline is required (preferably Civil, Process or Mechanical).
- 10-20 years experience in a Project Management role on a large scale in oil sands, mining, or oil and gas projects are essential.
- Thorough understanding of requirements of engineering work specifications, contract documents, and estimates including buyouts and subcontracts.
- Solid written and oral communications skills; exceptional communication and management skills.
