TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER for a Calgary based opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment.

Job Description:

  • Managing the specification, recruitment, training and development of Supply Chain Management personnel
  • Carrying out periodic appraisals of staff including staffing levels, competencies, training and development, assignment to teams, etc.
  • Providing clear definition of the objectives of Supply Chain Management with our client
  • Carrying out regular reviews of Supply Chain Management policies, procedures and practices to ensure that objectives are being met
  • Ensuring that all job requirements, techniques and systems are properly documented in terms of Job Descriptions, Departmental Procedures and User Manuals
  • Providing leadership to the functional group toward achieving delivery focused results in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones, budgets, etc.
  • Implementing established policies, techniques, processes, procedures and tools best suited to the specific assignment within the Contracts, Material Control, Procurement, Expediting and Logistics functional teams
  • Negotiating and managing complex vendor relationships and contracts. Managing vendor risk by ensuring that the organization’s strategies and practices take into account vendor health and agreements provide the required flexibility
  • Ensuring effective interfaces with Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering and Construction teams

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in supply Chain Management in an EPC environment, preferably in the upstream mineable oil sands/ or mining sectors
  • Minimum of 5 year’s supervisory experience in the management of Supply chain management department of 30 or more
  • The successful candidate will be required to manage all aspects of the Supply Chain Management functional team, including governance, systems, staff, training and development, in order to provide the our client with an efficient and professional Supply Chain Management capability
  • Experience on large-scale EPC and or EPCM projects an asset
  • A diploma/ certificate in engineering
