TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a PROJECT ENGINEER (Senior) for an opportunity to work in Edmonton.
Job Description:
- Responsible for project assignments being completed within financial and scheduling constraints
- In charge for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of work performed by consultants and contractors
- Preparation of construction drawings ensuring efficient and functional designs which meet engineering standards and company practices
- Familiar and responsible for being in compliance with regulatory, environmental, health and safety, project procedures, design standards (includes providing recommendations for improvements) and regulatory requirements
- Complete environmental permits, public consultation and regulatory approvals
- Provide support and engineering input to Development Engineering
- Ensure adequate information is provided to enable effective construction of facilities
- Coordinate with groups for resources, scope of work, schedule and costs
- Responsible for providing project execution reporting
- Direct the specification and requisitioning of materials and equipment
- Responsible to provide direction in the tender process, and award of construction contracts
- Coordinate project transition to Project Execution
- Provide project field support during constructions and commissioning activities
- Provide leadership on HS&E for project teams and ensure HS&E incident reporting
- Responsible for ensuring throughout the execution process, effective communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Minumum10+ years experience in the engineering industry with recent project management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or College
- Registered Professional Engineer in Canada and able to register with APEGGA
- Strong technical knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Demonstrated strength in managing and influencing engineering design firms, pipeline contractors, field survey firms and other project subcontractors as required is an asset
- Knowledge of mainline pumps, booster pumps, custody transfer metering, meter proving, petroleum quality assurance measurement, electrical equipment, substation, tankage, secondary containment, facility piping and control systems
- Experience in managing projects involving internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent leadership, project management, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
