TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a PROJECT ENGINEER (Senior) for an opportunity to work in Edmonton.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for project assignments being completed within financial and scheduling constraints
  • In charge for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of work performed by consultants and contractors
  • Preparation of construction drawings ensuring efficient and functional designs which meet engineering standards and company practices
  • Familiar and responsible for being in compliance with regulatory, environmental, health and safety, project procedures, design standards (includes providing recommendations for improvements) and regulatory requirements
  • Complete environmental permits, public consultation and regulatory approvals
  • Provide support and engineering input to  Development  Engineering
  • Ensure adequate information is provided to enable effective construction of facilities
  • Coordinate with groups for resources, scope of work, schedule and costs
  • Responsible for providing project execution reporting
  • Direct the specification and requisitioning of materials and equipment
  • Responsible to provide direction in the tender process, and award of construction contracts
  • Coordinate project transition to Project Execution
  • Provide project field support during constructions and commissioning activities
  • Provide leadership on HS&E for project teams and ensure HS&E incident reporting
  • Responsible for ensuring throughout the execution process, effective communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Minumum10+ years experience in the engineering industry with recent project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or College
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Canada and able to register with APEGGA
  • Strong technical knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Demonstrated strength in managing and influencing engineering design firms, pipeline contractors, field survey firms and other project subcontractors as required is an asset
  • Knowledge of mainline pumps, booster pumps, custody transfer metering, meter proving, petroleum quality assurance measurement, electrical equipment, substation, tankage, secondary containment, facility piping and control systems
  • Experience in managing projects involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership, project management, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
