TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER for an opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on industrial Engineering projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performing studies and assisting Lead Electrical Engineer in developing scope of work and execution of the engineering work.
- Ensuring consistency and integrity of electrical design throughout project and review design for logic and functionality.
- Developing detailed electrical specifications for the project.
- Coordinating project electrical activities with utility and other disciplines for their area of responsibility.
- Performing design of a plant distribution system including protection scheme.
- Assisting Lead Electrical Engineer in preparing electrical project schedule, progress reports and cost estimates.
- Performing relay protection/coordination studies, witness test at factory site for all major electrical equipment and pre-commissioning and start-up activities for electrical systems on as required basis.
- Inquiring, evaluating and preparing purchase requisition of electrical equipment (up to 35kV) and sub-contracts.
- Interfacing with design group to monitor and control project schedule, electrical hours and electrical cost for their area of responsibility.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in large motors and VFDs design is required.
- 5-10 years of practical experience is required in the specifications, engineering, design, construction and start-up for low and medium voltage plant distribution systems with EPC consulting firms for medium to large oil and gas related projects or power plant projects.
- Membership with APEGGA or eligible to get membership in APEGGA.
