TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting several FIELD SUPERVISORS/ FIELD ENGINEERS for Alberta opportunities to work in a plant environment with an Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil or a Mechanical background.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise for the development of project execution.
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting the progress and results of the implementation of the overall project.
  • Coordinating, directing and supervising to ensure technical and quality specifications in the execution of projects and in the field.
  • A broad knowledge of design, engineering construction and specifications.
  • Supervising projects from design to completion and final handover.
  • Managing project service providers through site services to ensure safe, cost effective utilization of contracted resources.
  • Managing specific projects for field adherence as well as providing input and direction on contract issues, directives, compliance, and change orders.
  • Managing specific project interactions with Operations and Maintenance, clearing obstacles like authorizations, permits, procedures, precautions, schedule, etc.
  • Taking personal accountability for the successful implementation of plant & corporate strategies & decision.
  • Seeking a personal understanding of strategies, goals and decisions and help others to understand how they are expected to contribute.
  • Providing daily work direction that optimizes the use of available resources (people, time, job assignments, and equipment). 

Job Requirements:

  • 8+ years of field experience in project coordination, operations, and project management.
  • A Diploma, Degree or sufficient experience in a discipline area of Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil or a Mechanical background.
  • Must have experience working at an Industrial or Chemical Plant Operation with exposure to project work of various sizes.
  • Knowledge of site safety, OH&S, and environmental regulations.
  • Good understanding of project planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to work and produce results under pressure.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Good understanding of computer programs and applications. (Outlook, SAP, MS Word, and Excel)
  • Confined space, Fall Restraint and WHIMIS Certificate would be an asset.
