TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting a GEOLOGIST for an opportunity to work in Western Canada.
Job Description:
- Providing support for exploration, development projects and long-term planning within the Diamonds and Specialty Products group
- Generating resource models, evaluating and documenting deposit geology.
- Developing structural and geological models for mine planning and resource estimation purposes
- Geological data validation and database management, including analysis of data to assist in resource evaluation
- Assisting with the development of potash reconciliation practices, including grade control models
- Maintaining geological databases and communicating findings to key stakeholders
- Generating and documenting resource models, estimates and evaluations
- Proficient use of geostatistical analysis for resource classification and optimizing exploration programs
- Ensuring current best practice is applied to resource estimation
- Supporting the progression of growth projects through to Identification Phase through geological modeling
- Managing of external consultants ensuring quality of deliverables to agreed costs and schedule
Job Requirements:
- University Degree in Geoscience (BSc Hons or equivalent)
- Member of professional association.
- At least 5 years’ experience in resource evaluation, with a minimum of 2 years in potash (or similar) geology, structural geology, underground mine geology and geophysical (seismic) exploration methods
- Working knowledge of geostatistical estimation techniques
- Deposit modeling and evaluation skills, proficient in the use of ArcGIS, GoCAD and relational databases
- Experience in oil and gas would also be an asset
