TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for an INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER for an opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on Industrial Engineering projects.
Job Description:
- Providing production of Detailed Engineering packages for design of integrated automation systems
- This includes field instrumentation, distributed control systems, Programmable Logic controllers, and a variety of ancillary systems, including equipment specification, sizing, wiring, configuration design, and production and review of all associated documentation
- Providing support for management on instrumentation and automation systems design and installation
- Providing trouble-shooting support for DCS/PLC applications and controller tuning
- Field construction support, commissioning and start-up
- Leading continuous improvement of instrumentation technology and standards, with responsibility for the development and maintenance of long-term plans
Job Requirements:
- Be registered, or qualify to be registered, as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan
- An applicable Engineering degree with 10+ years of related experience
- Experience using InTools, CAD and MicroStation
- Familiarity with DCS, PLCs and industrial networking
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, organizing, judgment, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making and communications skills are essential
- Familiar with in-line instruments and instruments associated with rotating and heavy industrial equipment
- Familiar with production of instrumentation and controls deliverables, including P&ID development, loop drawings, wiring details, control narratives and scopes of work
- Strong knowledge of analyzers and governor systems would be an asset
- Excellent Computer Skills (ie: MS Office and SAP)
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
