TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a SENIOR LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER to work in an EPC/M environment.
Job Description:
- Lead responsibility for technical direction of a group of engineers and functions as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts, techniques, and standards
- Developing solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity
- Directing activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements
- Directing and coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
- Performing engineering tasks with computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
- Performing calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications
- Evaluating the desired goal of the system and develops, designs
- Selecting the required equipment, power controls, piping, structures and earthwork to achieve the planned goal
- Participating in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects
- Maintaining effective communication with project team members and with the customer
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree with APEGGA registration
- 15+ years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, mostly in North America
- Experience with the following is an asset:
- Mature fine tailings reclamation
- Slurry pump applications
- Material conveying systems
- Centrifuges
- Experience as Mechanical Lead on medium to large size projects
- Solid technical background in requisitioning mechanical equipment
