TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a Senior PIPING DESIGNER for an Alberta based opportunity to work in an Engineering Consulting environment.
Job Description:
- Applying 3D modeling techniques in generating designs
- Extracting 3D model drawings as required, or generating detailed or standard drawings as required
- Performing P&ID’s, LDT’s, Piping Engineering Specifications, Line Classifications and Equipment Data Sheets or Vendor Drawings
- Providing piping materials specifications
- Developing plant plan
- Designing equipment and piping layouts
- Providing resolutions of plant interfaces
- Supervising the development of the design model
- Checking piping plan and isometric drawings
- Ensuring compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable plant operation, construction economy, and maintenance/operating convenience
- Reviewing and checking calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers or drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion for a reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy
- Assisting in the coordination of overall plant space utilization across all disciplines.
- Coordinating or making jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents
- Reviewing or defining engineering scope changes, as required, for project and discipline use and compile and maintain job files, records, and progressing reports for work assigned
- Developing vessel orientations
- Recognizing and reporting problems on flow sheet
- Performing squad checking of vendor and other disciplines’ drawings
Job Requirements:
- Trade/College Diploma or Certificate in related field
- 8+ years of experience in piping design
- Experience using PDS
