TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a PIPING MATERIAL SPECIALIST for an Alberta based opportunity to work in an Engineering Consulting environment.
Job Description:
- Drafting Piping Material specifications, datasheets and drawings
- Preparing and issuing Piping Material requisitions for bid and procurement
- Preparing Technical Bid evaluations
- Following the piping material requisition package though the life of the project up to close of purchase order
- Managing Piping material control activities on large project
- Preparing piping material calculations such as wall thickness, area reinforcement as per international codes
- Preparing and planning piping material work on a project
- Interacting with vendors, site, fabrication yard and client to sort out queries related to Piping materials
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of science degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering
- 7 + in piping materials engineering related to Oil Sands and/or Hydrocarbon projects
- Experience in a Leading EPCM company is preferred
- Well conversant with all aspects of piping design and piping engineering
- Computer skills such as MS Excel, MS Access, Piping Material software (VPRM)
- Knowledge of piping materials and metallurgy
- Ability to conceptualize and draft specifications of piping material components by referring to international codes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience in interaction with other engineering disciplines, vendors and client is required for this role
