TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP is currently recruiting for a LEAD ESTIMATOR for an Alberta based opportunity to work in an Engineering Consulting environment.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for complete and timely preparation of various types of estimates, including LSTK, EPC and EPCM
  • Leading a team(s) in the development of conceptual, factored, semi-detailed and detailed cost estimates
  • Responsible for the management of an estimating team as well as the development of estimates with respect to quality, staffing and consistency
  • Developing project specific estimate plans, schedules, and basis within the project team
  • Calculating craft labor rates, productivity, and location factors
  • Reviewing and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes
  • Maintenance and support of historical estimating databases, escalation indices, and productivity data
  • Mentoring and coaching members of the estimating team to ensure their ongoing development
  • Performing detailed quantitative, cost and productivity analysis
  • Facilitating risk identification sessions, developing risk models, preparing reports and presentations
  • Preparation of change orders, trends and comparative studies
  • Leading estimate reviews with engineering disciplines
  • Presenting estimates to Client management

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years estimating experience including lump sum projects and reimbursable estimates related to significant ($10 billion and higher) LSTK / EPC / EPCM Projects 
  • Proficient in Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (K-Base), Timberline, MS-Excel, MS-Access
  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of estimating types (Class 1 to 5), methods and techniques
  • Experience in conducting risk assessment and evaluation reviews with working knowledge of @ Risk software
  • A distinct results orientation combined with outstanding communication, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
