<li>Several years of experience at an Industrial or Chemical Plant Operation with exposure to project work of various sizes. </li>

<li>The position involves design work at an intermediate working level requiring preparation and interpretation of complex topographical piping drawings. </li>
<li>Drafting moderate to complex drawings, using 2D and 3D CADD which involves planning and layouts for major installations. <strong></strong></li>
<li>Conducting field visits and preparing as-built drawings and field sketches. Assisting field forces during construction. <strong></strong></li>

<li>Cost monitoring, schedule monitoring and planning during the development &amp; execution phase of  projects</li>
<li>Assist with the development of standardized project controls procedures, processes and systems.</li>
<li>Develop project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) during the development and/or execution stage of projects to facilitate budget development, cost control, schedule management, progress &amp; performance in compliance with accounting requirements</li>
<li>Provide project cost budget breakdowns and resource planning based on developed WBS. Review and analysis of estimates to establish cost and schedule performance baselines; establish indirect &amp; direct costs for cost monitoring and change management, develop project spend profiles for cost tracking purposes</li>
<li>Collect or assist program manager in compiling internal and external costs, schedule and progress information through standard templates &amp; procedures</li>
<li>Monitor and analyze incurred costs against commitments and planned values, perform earned value analysis and report forecast and cost variances</li>
<li>Assist in verifying change orders against contractual obligations and validate cost, schedule and resource impacts, monitor and analyze costs against change orders to report forecast and cost variances</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of the long range and strategic plans based on the collection of integrated (scope, cost, schedule &amp; progress) Internal and External information and reviews</li>
<li>Track all submissions, closures, notices of completion, revisions, in-service dates, project status)</li>

<li>Post-secondary education in engineering, business, accounting, or technical diploma, or equivalent experience in project controls, contract administration and general project accounting management, preferably within the oil &amp; gas or pipeline industry.</li>
<li>Experience with Oracle Financials (Work Orders and Project Accounting modules) and Markview Invoicing would be an asset</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (2007), Primavera Project Manager (V P6.7) or Microsoft Projects</li>

<ul>
<li>A sound technical knowledge / experience in the application and selection of devices and components for instrumentation designs, operations and maintenance.</li>
<li>Designing instrumentation loops c/w a sound technical knowledge to defend the application and selection of instrumentation devices within the loop </li>
<li>Detailed instrumentation design including interfacing to PLCs and DCS systems. PLC vendors are Modicon and Triconex and DCS vendors are Honeywell </li>
<li>Ownership mindset, ability to work independently in a Team environment with minimum of supervision, effective communication skills (written and oral) </li>
<li>Ability to develop ‘turnkey type’ details and processes from the start of project development engineering to project closure. The project life span shall be c/w quality cost estimates, detail design, documentation, cost and schedule management, commissioning, start-up, and a successful final turnover  </li>
<li>High level understanding of electrical ladder rung logics and PLC ladder logics </li>
<li>Comprehensive review and design of 24vdc trip logic diagrams c/w cause and effect matrix </li>
<li>Familiarity with INtools, analyzers, and Modbus communications </li>
<li>Development of detailed and well documented Construction Work Packages (CWPkg)</li>
<li>Assure compliance with all applicable project and site specifications, contract requirements, policies and codes</li>
<li>Ensure the following, if applicable, are addressed in the work plan: heat tracing, piping insulation removal and reinstallation, heat shields, painting, and scaffolding </li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Job Requirements:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Completion of a Technologist Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology with +8 years industrial instrumentation experience in engineering and field design of projects</li>
<li>INtools hands-on design capabilities </li>
<li>Sketch or detail design new instrumentation loop diagrams, as-builts, IJBs, IPLs, systems I/O mapping, list BOMs, spare parts, PLC and DCS interfacing design for MCCs</li>
<li>Setup new SAP functional locations, and Maintenance and Project files </li>
<li>Write work procedures for the installation personnel, pre commissioning loop function checks, Operations and Maintenance commissioning procedures, and Operator training packages </li>
<li>Generate and / or modify existing trip logic and cause &amp; effect diagrams, specify all instrumentation hardware and generate / update P&amp;IDs </li>
<li>Design and/or check the redundancy design of system communications and power supply for systems </li>
<li>Assist planner with work planning by supplying design related details and procedures, perform field tour and reviewing the plan </li>

<li>Working closely with Maintenance, Operations and other engineering disciplines to provide detailed electrical designs, cost estimates, project schedules and coordinate field installations</li>
<li>Design and preparation of necessary drawings, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and interconnection diagrams </li>
<li>Designing and drafting industrial Power distribution, Transformers, Motor control centers, Control circuits, Relays, Lighting systems and Grounding as per Canadian Electrical Code</li>
<li>Developing single line protection diagrams, 3-phase schematics, AC &amp; DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable termination schedules</li>
<li>Designing electrical equipment disconnects, digital and analog control circuits, fire alarm systems, DeltaV configuration, EJB and CJB wiring layouts</li>
<li>Detailing electrical design of Motor controls/ Motor circuits and protective system design, 600V and below, Power distribution, Lighting, Grounding, Cable tray and Conduit layout, fire alarm devices and electrical safety devices</li>
<li>Preparing material cost and timing estimates, project reports, as-built activities and design specifications</li>
<li>Designing of Electrical Heat Trace (EHT) for Process pipes, Vessels, Instrument tube bundles, and Roof</li>
<li>Self-management of assigned projects, effective communication with clients as well as team based project assignments, Job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimate</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Job Requirements:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma</li>
<li>APEGGA or ASET membership (or eligible to apply for membership) </li>
<li>Minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in an industrial environment</li>
<li>Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and/or National Electrical codes</li>
<li>Experience with AutoCAD, Intools, MOC and BAAN software is an asset</li>
