CNC Machinist

At TSG STAFFING SERVICES, we are always recruiting in anticipation of our clients’ future needs. As such, we are continuing to search for a CNC MACHINIST for potential upcoming projects in the Edmonton area. 

Job Description:

• To safely and effectively operate lathes, milling machines, and other tools to produce high quality parts based on CAD drawings, work orders and customer specifications
• Safely and efficiently program, set-up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines (manual machines included), horizontal boring mill, surface grinders and manual lathes
• Program in standard ISO CNC programming language
• Consciously follow all safety recommendations, guidelines and rules at all times
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed and plan best sequence of operations
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specification using precision measuring instruments (gauges, calipers and micrometers)
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work environment including the machines, tools and surrounding area
• Exhibit a high regard for safety with the goal of zero incidents in mind at all times

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED
• Interprovincial Journeyman, or registered in an apprenticeship program working towards Journeyman certification
• 7+ years of related machining experience
• Able to accurately perform mathematical calculations
• Able to program in G-code
• Attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high quality work
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Must be physically capable to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Long periods of time standing in one place with some repetitive arm movement
