Project Manager (Electrical)

At TSG STAFFING SERVICES, we are always recruiting in anticipation of our clients’ future needs. As such, we are continuing to search for a PROJECT MANAGER (Electrical) for an opportunity in the Greater Medicine Hat Area in an Operating Plant environment.

Job Description

  • Lead the technical development and design oversight of electrical systems, including switchgear, MCCs, and low/medium voltage infrastructure
  • Managing project development and project execution through to start-up 
  • Provide engineering leadership through all project phases from feasibility and detailed design to commissioning and start-up
  • Developing standard practices and procedures related to the management of projects 
  • Ensure all engineering work aligns with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Participating in continuous improvement of project management procedures to improve overall project management effectiveness 
  • Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure designs are safe, reliable, and maintainable
  • Controlling projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget 
  • Sharing expertise and resources with other departments, plant sites and corporate offices 
  • Examine unexpected or unusual developments as part of the project execution and project design to find and implement innovative solutions 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering  
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta
  • PMP designation is an asset, but not required for candidates with strong technical leadership experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with switchgear, MCCs, and low/medium voltage systems
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering problems in live plant environments
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment with a high degree of interaction between management, technical, maintenance and self-managed operations teams  
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and must be highly motivated  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
