Industrial Electrician

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for an INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN for an opportunity in the Edmonton Area in a warehouse environment.

Job Description:

• Perform all maintenance tasks in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Environmental Rules and Regulations and Internal Policies
• Ensure that any relevant Permits, Hazard Assessments, Lockout/Tag Out and Isolation forms have been properly prepared and completed prior to start of work
• Communicate/Report any deficiencies or corrections noticed during routine maintenance and inspections
• Communicate with process area personnel to ensure stable operation of plant equipment
• Work directly with contractors during minor and major maintenance turnarounds
• Assist with troubleshooting and analyzing of system faults and process upsets for future
• Provide hands-on equipment assistance for Commissioning and Start-up Team
• Review and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and provide feedback and corrections as required
• Participate in the development of and perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and Electrical Switching Plans
• Participate in vendor led commissioning/training activities and external electrical safety working group training
• Provide information and feedback after performing maintenance responsibilities and tasks

Job Requirements:

• Journeyman certification required
• 5+ years Industrial experience with a combination of construction, maintenance and start up experience is preferred
• Must be legally Authorized to work in Canada
• Leadership experience is an asset
• Within limits, exercises judgment in planning with organization and completion of assignments while ensuring a strong safety orientation and a commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
• Influences team members to meet quality control and safety standards and checks the work of others to ensure quality results
• Reviews work while mentoring and providing advice and guidance to junior team members on work activities and technical issues.
• Provides guidance to ensure safe operating procedures (SOP’s) are accurate and up to date
• Demonstrate flexibility in uncertain situations and adapts well to change, analyzing and resolving situations that arise accordingly including mitigating risks within work area
• Display the ability to synthesize data and draw conclusions along with demonstrating sound reasoning in solving routine issues
• Evaluates options and chooses the best course of action in decision making
• Troubleshooting hardwired protection and control systems and assist in troubleshooting software control systems
• Position demands certain physical requirements, capable of walking long distance and climbing multiple flights of stairs while carrying tools and/or small equipment
• Travel for training will be required
• Position may require extended working hours and days during plant start-up
• Must be capable of responding to plant emergency situations on evenings and weekends as part of an on-call rotation
• Computer software and hardware skills
