Process Engineer

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER for a Calgary area-based opportunity to work in an operating plant environment. 

Job Description: 

• Accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining the Process Safety program for an operating facility
• Lead, initiating, investigating and reporting on Process Safety Management (PSM) related activities
• Support directly to the operations and maintenance teams and champions initiatives to correct deficiencies or to make improvements to the operation of the units
• Ensure Process Safety Events (PSE) are properly captured, investigated and reported correctly
• Lead Process Safety Incident Investigations and ensure execution of follow-up
• Apply engineering and small project management skills to the development and implementation of assigned Corrective Action Plans (CAP’s)
• Drive compliance to CAP’s that address issues identified through Process Safety Management Audits, PHA’s, Process Safety Events, and Management Reviews.
• Support the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) system and facilitate MOC or Project PHA's as required
• Act as one of the Site resources for process safety education and knowledge development
• Roll-out and train site personnel on new developments and changes to process safety program and introduce new hires to PSM program
• Manage and help develop site process safety information

Job Requirements: 

• 5+ years experience at an industrial process setting
• Engineering degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
• Registered as or eligible to be licensed as a Professional Engineering in Alberta
• Ability to handle large and varied work
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task
• PHA facilitation experience (experience working with PHA Pro is an asset)
•  Excellent communication (verbal and written), planning and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of computer systems and data management systems including SAP and Microsoft Office.
