PLC Programmer

TSG Staffing Services is currently recruiting for a SENIOR SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR in the Edmonton area.

This individual must have proven experience in programming, leadership and the capacity to develop and implement standard engineering practices, and to provide detailed documentation on the project completion. This person will be involved in the technical aspect of the project but can be responsible of certain project management aspects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Continue the development and implementation of standard Engineering practices and documentation
• Perform PLC programming changes or upgrades
• Perform software firmware updates on required hardware
• Test PLC I/O functions with electricians or instrument technicians
• Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing and start-up
• Ability to develop and implement standard Engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion
• Train operators & maintenance staff in the operation & maintenance of control systems equipment and components
• Configure networking equipment and complete networking terminations

Job Requirements:

• College diploma or bachelor degree in electrical engineering or instrumentation
• Journeyman Electrician certification highly preferred
• 20+ years’ experience in PLC programming and HMI development in various manufactures, preferably Allen Bradley
• Ability to understand and update engineering drawings
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Able to work alone or as a team
• Good communication skills
• Travel 25% around western Canada
• Experience in Hazardous area and Oil/Gas industries is an asset
